Idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis: an unusual case of anaemia with pulmonary involvement

Idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis is a rare disorder, with recurrent life-threatening alveolar haemorrhages and chronic lung parenchymal changes. It associated triad of haemoptysis, iron deficiency anaemia, diffuse infiltrates. Although most cases are idiopathic, secondary linked to known diseases has also been observed. Most the remain undiagnosed because disease very low on list differentials. There no specified age for disease. The present study reports an adolescent female patient who presented microcytic anaemia bilateral infiltrates National Institute Child Health (NICH), Karachi, tertiary care hospital.
